YardSafe is a workplace safety and compliance application operated by
Premier Scrap Processing, LLC ("YardSafe," "we," "us"). Employers use
YardSafe to manage their employees' safety training, inspections, incident reports,
certifications, documents, and permits. This policy explains what information the app
collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with.
YardSafe is intended for use by employees and managers of a company that has an
account with us. If you are an employee, the company that gave you access (your
employer) controls your account and the records associated with it.
Information we collect
Account and profile information
- Your name, and email address and/or username used to sign in.
- Phone number, if provided.
- Your role, company, and group assignment within the app.
- Sign-in credentials (passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are
never visible to us), and the date and time of your most recent sign-in.
Safety and compliance records
- Training assignments, completions, quiz scores, and acknowledgment signatures.
- Safety inspections, incident reports, equipment inspections, corrective actions,
certifications, permits, and related notes you enter.
- Photos you choose to attach to incident reports and equipment or
safety inspections. The app requests camera and photo-library access only for this
purpose; photos are uploaded only when you add them to a record.
Device and notification data
- A push-notification token for your device, if you enable notifications, so we can
deliver alerts about assigned trainings, reminders, and messages.
- Basic technical information needed to operate the app reliably.
We do not use tracking or advertising SDKs, and we do not collect your
precise location.
How we use information
- To provide the safety-compliance service to your employer — assigning and tracking
training, recording inspections and incidents, and maintaining compliance records.
- To send you notifications by email, in-app, and push (training assignments,
reminders, safety alerts, and messages from your managers).
- To secure the service, prevent misuse, and meet legal and recordkeeping obligations
(for example, occupational safety records).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for
advertising.
How information is shared
- Your employer. Administrators and managers at the company that
owns your account can see your profile and the safety records associated with you.
- Service providers (sub-processors) that operate the app on our
behalf, under agreements that limit their use of the data:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Cloudflare Stream — hosting of training videos.
- Resend — delivery of notification emails.
- Expo, Apple (APNs), and Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) — delivery of push
notifications.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Legal. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect
the rights, safety, and security of users or the public.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide
the service to your employer. Safety and training records may be retained after an account
is deactivated to meet the employer's compliance and recordkeeping requirements. When data
is no longer needed, it is deleted or de-identified.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by per-company access controls
(row-level security), and administrative access is limited. No system can be guaranteed
perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices and rights
- You can turn push notifications on or off in your device settings.
- To access, correct, or delete your personal information or account, contact your
company's administrator, or reach us at the address below and we will work with your
employer to honor the request.
Children
YardSafe is a workplace tool for adults and is not directed to children. We do not
knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by
updating the effective date above.
